Fine Arts, Fine Music and Fine Wine!
The 7th Annual Fountain Hills Fine Art & Wine Affaire
By Dave Cooper
Spring weather is in the air and Valley residents are looking for ways to celebrate the great outdoors. This weekend offers a chance to enjoy a variety of arts, entertainment, live music and all around family fun. Among these events, on March 18th, 19th and 20th, the Valley's annual Fountain Hills Fine Art and Wine Affaire ranks as one of the favorites.
This weekend Thunderbird Artists and Sunset Kiwanis of Fountain Hills play host to the 7th Annual Fountain Hills Fine Art and Wine Affaire. You can walk along the Avenue of the Fountains in beautiful Fountain Hills and see a myriad of world-class exhibits by juried artists. From paintings to sculpture and beyond, magnificent arrays of arts will be featured. Southwest-style paintings in acrylic, watercolor and oil; sculpture in brass, clay and other unique forms, along with Native American Batiks will be on display, and much more.
And what's an outdoor festival without fabulous live entertainment? Several exotic forms of music will be represented with calypso and Caribbean rhythms performed by Lemo. You'll enjoy a steady pulse of jazz and flamenco-style guitar from Eric Hansen, the smooth jazz piano selections of Jeffrey Michael and numerous other live music performances sprinkled throughout the weekend festivities.
Wine lovers are in for a very special treat. Thunderbird Artists has partnered with top wine experts to judge and select the finest wines across the nation. Often the wines served for tasting at these festivals are unattainable in the open market. You can enjoy a little touch of the grape as you take notes on the wine selections and get the low down on where to obtain these fermented delights.
Remember to give yourself plenty of time to visit the surrounding specialty shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants and outdoor cafes at this weekend's 7th Annual Fountain Hills Fine Art and Wine Affaire. See you there!
